About the Founder

I'm Zane, the founder of Northern Stag.

I grew up on a deer farm in New Zealand's North Island, where hunting, hard work, old Cruisers, and long days on the land weren't hobbies—they were just part of life. Those country roots are what Northern Stag is built on.

Ever since I was a kid, I've had one dream that never left me: to operate helicopters in the agricultural world

Every season, Dad would get the chopper in to spray the farm. Mum and Dad still laugh about the first time one ever landed on our property. Before that, I'd only ever seen helicopters in books, so I couldn't wait to see one for real.

The pilot shut the machine down while he was on the job. When it came time to leave, he climbed back in and cranked the old girl up.

Apparently I took one look, turned around, and absolutely legged it back to the house. Scared shitless.

It took me a fair while before I'd even go anywhere near the bloody thing again.

Funny enough, that same machine I ran away from became the thing I dreamed about every single day growing up.

That childhood memory turned into a goal.

Today I'm a qualified welder, working away in Western Australia while building Northern Stag from the ground up. Every swing, every hour worked, and every step forward is helping fund a bigger vision.

Northern Stag is more than just clothing.

It's about chasing the life you've always pictured. It's about backing yourself, staying connected to where you came from, and never forgetting your country roots—even if the road takes you somewhere else.

One day, the goal is to be back home in New Zealand, flying helicopters over the same kind of country I grew up on, while building a brand that represents the people who live for the outdoors.

This brand is my journey.

You're not just buying a hoodie or a cap—you're becoming part of the story.

Country roots. Raised higher.
